Alyssa Espinosa
Founder
Alyssa was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She studied political science at Florida International University, and went to law school at the University of Miami. While in law school, Alyssa dedicated herself to working in criminal defense as soon as she could, interning for both the state and federal Public Defenders, and clerking for some of Miami’s top criminal defense lawyers. She excelled in the litigation skills program, where she received a scholarship for her performance in trial advocacy.
After law school, she served as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami for three years where she fiercely represented hundreds of clients charged with crimes ranging from misdemeanor offenses to life felonies. In the course of her work, she investigated cases thoroughly, negotiated favorable resolutions with prosecutors, and took cases to trial.
Since entering private practice, Alyssa has continued to hone her skills in trial advocacy, representing clients accused of committing a crime. She remains dedicated to zealously defending her clients and holding the government to its burden, no matter the severity of the alleged offense. Alyssa prides herself in her ability to work well with clients and their families, making effective communication a cornerstone of her practice. She firmly believes that clients play a crucial role in their own representation, and should be active participants at all stages.
In addition to her law practice, Alyssa serves on the Executive Board of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Miami Chapter.
